Steady Wisdom: Day 100

Steady Wisdom: 108 Verses On Changing My Thinking

DAY 100

I have realized my own self, which is bliss and peace.  Even though living in this world I am never bound in any way or under any circumstances.
-Dhyanasvarupam V.10
Meditation

I am the self.  I am “bliss” because I am free from the limitations of the illusory body-mind.  I am “peace” because I am never disturbed by the state of the illusory body-mind.  Even when the illusory body-mind continues to live in the equally illusory world, I am never affected in any way or under any circumstances.  “Bliss” and “peace” are my very nature.  OM.

Steady Wisdom: 108 Verses On Changing My Thinking

DAY 76

I am the limitless ocean of consciousness.  Although the appearance of the world arises in me, I remain formless and fully at peace.
– Ashtavakra Samhita 7:3
Meditation

Like water remaining inherently formless despite assuming various forms like waves, clouds or mist, I, consciousness, remain inherently formless despite assuming various forms such as the body, mind and world.  Untouched by these forms, I remain fully at peace.  OM.

Steady Wisdom: Day 74

Steady Wisdom: 108 Verses On Changing My Thinking

DAY 74

Just as space pervades everything, I pervade space.  I am changeless, motionless, pure, ageless, ever-liberated, one without a second.
-Upadesha Sahasri 12:19 (Metrical)
Meditation

Like space, I do not change, I do not move, I do not decay.  Like space, I am untainted and unencumbered by the objects that appear in me.  Like space, I am division-less and one without a second.

However, while all objects appear within space, space itself is an object that appears in me, consciousness-existence.  Further, while all objects depends on space to exist, space depends on me, existence itself, to exist.  The conclusion: I am ever-free—I depend on nothing to be the limitless reality that I am.  OM.

Steady Wisdom: 108 Verses On Changing My Thinking

DAY 68

Knowing I am the self, I see I am not touched by virtue or vice, just as the sky is not touched by smoke, even though it appears to be.
-Ashtavakra Samhita 4:3
Meditation

Virtue and vice belong to the body-mind which appears in me, consciousness, like smoke appearing in space.  Just as space is untouched by smoke, I am untouched by the virtue and vice of the body.  OM.

Steady Wisdom: Day 62

Steady Wisdom: 108 Verses On Changing My Thinking

DAY 62

I am infinite and pure, free from attachment and desire.  I am at peace.  Objects are illusory and they do not limit me in any way.
-Ashtavakra Samhita 7:4
Meditation

Attachment and desire are but thoughts and feelings that periodically appear in my mind.  As a lamp is not limited by the objects it illuminates, I am not limited by the thoughts and feelings that are known to me. Therefore, when the mind is tainted by attachment and disturbed by desire, I remain pure and fully at peace.  OM.
