Steady Wisdom: Day 45

Steady Wisdom: 108 Verses On Changing My Thinking

DAY 45

I have no parts.  I am actionless.  I am the self of all.  By nature I am eternal and self-evident.  I am the immortal, changeless self.
-Brahma Jnanavali V.12
Meditation

I am one alone, free of all divisions, despite the appearance of the body, mind and world, the same way that water is one alone, free of all divisions, despite the appearance of ripples, waves and foam.  Like an actionless movie screen onto which a film is projected, I am the actionless “background” of pure existence onto which the false universe is projected. Steady Wisdom: 108 Verses On Changing My Thinking

DAY 39

Just as all clay pots are nothing but clay, the whole universe is nothing but me.  Thus proclaims Vedanta.
-Brahma Jnanavali V.19
Meditation

Everything that exists is me, existence itself.  And yet, I myself am not a thing.  Just as all clay pots are nothing but clay, the whole universe is nothing but me.  But just as clay is never truly a clay pot, I am never truly the universe or any part of it.  Therefore, I am free from samsara.

Steady Wisdom: 108 Verses On Changing My Thinking

DAY 22

I am beyond all suffering; I am different from the three bodies; I am the witness of the three states.  I am the immortal, changeless self.
– Brahma Jnanavali V.16
Meditation

To whom does suffering belong?  The physical and mental bodies alone.  When do the physical and mental bodies appear?  In the waking and dreaming states alone.  Because I am the ever-present, unchanging conscious witness of the waking and dream states, I cannot be the physical or mental bodies that appear within them.  Therefore, I am free of all suffering. OM.

Steady Wisdom: 108 Days of Changing My Thinking

DAY 10

I need no support but I am the support of all; I have no desires to be fulfilled; I am the immortal, changeless self.
– Brahma Jnanavali V.15
Meditation

The universe depends on me but I do not depend on it. For how can anything exist without me, existence itself? Therefore, I do not have to rely on the body, mind or world for security. Because they are ever-changing and unreal objects, they have nothing to offer me, the immortal, changeless self. So I watch the objects come and go, all the while remaining satisfied in myself. OM.

Steady Wisdom: Day 2

Steady Wisdom – 108 Days of Changing My Thinking

Day 2

I am ever-free of any attachment; I am existence, consciousness, bliss; I am the immortal, changeless self.
Brahma Jnanavali V.2
Meditation

I am not attached because attachment is merely a transient thought in my mind.  If it comes and goes, how can it be real?  How can it be me, who am ever present as consciousness, the knower of the thought?  No thought can ever be attached to me because there is only me—pure existence, the essence of everything, seen and unseen.  I am by nature devoid of suffering.  Unlike the mind and body, I was not born and I will not die, for how can I, pure being, come into being?  If I have no beginning, how can I have and end?  Beginning-less and endless, I do not change.  All forms of experience in the states of waking, dream and deep sleep come and go like waves in the infinite ocean of myself.  I am the water of pure existence.  No matter what wave of experience arises in me, I remain unchanged. OM.
